ARIZONA AGRIBUSINESS AND EQUINE CENTER TO HOST MOCK ACCIDENT EVENT 

Between Monday, October 31, 2022, and Wednesday, November 2, 2022, Arizona Agribusiness and Equine Center (AAEC), a charter high school in Prescott Valley, will be partnering with the Prescott Valley Police Department (PVPD) and the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety to host a mock car accident scene to showcase the dangers of being under the influence of alcohol/drugs and operating a motor vehicle.

On Wednesday, November 2, 2022, multiple emergency first responder vehicles will be staged outside of AAEC charter school located at 7500 E. Skoog Blvd. in Prescott Valley for this mock event. An assembly will also take place at the school where victims and survivors of fatal DUI crashes will tell their stories to high school kids.  Local agencies including PVPD, Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, Department of Public Safety, Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority, Spectrum, and Mothers Against Drunk Drivers, will be present for the assembly. This event is taking place before the school’s homecoming dance to spread awareness of driving under the influence.

A mock crash shows students the dangers of drinking and driving under the influence during an assembly at Sunnyslope High School.

• A wrecked vehicle will be on display on the school’s campus for students and members of the community to view.  

This event is part of an ongoing commitment to educating our local youth about the dangers of impaired  driving and the lasting effects that preventable drunk driving accidents have on a community as well as  individuals within the community
