Thanksgiving is quickly approaching.  It is a day to count our blessings. The VAREP (Veterans Association of Real Estate Professionals) Prescott Chapter is excited to announce its VAREP Cares event, “Operation Turkey Drop” 2022. There are many veterans who have very little and cannot afford to get their own turkey to have for the holiday. Last year, we were able to donate 38 turkeys to 38 veterans. Our goal is to increase that number this year. Through our partnership with the VA, we have identified 100 veterans in need in our community. We are asking for your donations to help us meet our goal of ensuring our veterans have a Turkey Dinner this thanksgiving! October 20, 2022 to November 22, 2022 your donations of just $20 will help us get a turkey for a veteran.

VAREP (Veterans Association of Real Estate Professionals) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit and certified HUD counseling organization. Our mission is to improve the lives of service members and veterans through education, housing, and philanthropy. VAREP, along with national and local partners, will bring financial workshops tailored to military and veteran communities. VAREP’s online presence combined with its housing events provide financial literacy and military housing information directly to the population it targets. Established in 2011, our leadership realized many organizations help veterans with pension, disability compensation, and critical needs but none were dedicated to financial literacy, housing, and homeownership – We are that organization. While our focus is on servicemembers and veterans, our programs are offered to all qualified families who want the American Dream of homeownership. As a housing non-profit for vets, by vets, our success is measured not by a balance sheet for shareholders but by how many lives we can improve through our programs and services. We may not end the epidemic of homelessness among the veteran community, but can prevent it from happening in the future, one veteran at a time.
