    2 vehicle head on accident on Hwy 89-Update

    UPDATE:

    Additional photos have been attached.

    Total of two people involved in the accident. Both patients have been extricated. One patient was flown by Native Air 14 to Flagstaff Medical Center. The other patient was deceased on scene. Both vehicles have been moved off the roadway. ADOT has opened one lane of traffic. Entire roadway will be opened once they have completed their investigation.
    Units on scene were 3 CAFMA engines, 1 CAFMA Battalion Chief, 2 Lifeline ambulances, 1 Native Air helicopter and multiple units from DPS, ADOT and YCSO.


    Crews are currently working a 2 vehicle head on accident on Hwy 89 at MM 341 just north of Paulden. Hwy 89 is currently closed in both directions. More info to come as we gather it.

    1. How many fatalities have to take place before road changes are made? It’s not the roads fault but we have a culture where folks are distracted, in a hurry or just plain careless but the transportation experts need to protect the innocent parties. Divided highways, speed reduction, increased passing lanes?
